Central Finance and Contracting Agency  Awards Grant for RedFrog and Riga Technical University’s Hybrid Indoor Localization Project.

We are pleased to announce that the project “Hybrid Sensor System for Precise Indoor Localization” (HySSPIL) has received funding and is now being launched in partnership between Riga Technical University and RedFrog.

The goal of this interdisciplinary project is to develop a high-precision, energy-efficient indoor localization system that combines Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and ultrasound (US) technologies. By integrating the long-range capabilities of BLE with the time-of-flight (ToF) accuracy of ultrasound, HySSPIL aims to deliver significantly improved localization performance across various indoor environments.

Building on its extensive know-how in BLE-based indoor navigation, RedFrog together with RTU will carry out research into ultrasound-based localization to achieve even greater precision and reliability.

This hybrid approach is particularly valuable for sectors such as healthcare, smart buildings, logistics, and other industrial buildings.
